The Bangor-on-Dee charity fundraising race day held on the 28 September, was great success. Funds raised exceeded all expectation and smashed our target of £20k, raising over £44,700 – and donations are still coming in!
The race day was a key event in our 40th anniversary calendar. Over 350 guests from local businesses and current supporters, came together in the CSRC hospitality marquee to enjoy a day of celebration and racing.
We were very honoured to have HRH The Princess Royal in her capacity as President of the Riding for the Disabled Association, attend our special fundraising event.
HRH sealed the day with the cutting of an anniversary cake and was presented with a posy from Molly and Isaac, two of our young participants. They certainly had a day to remember, as did the racegoers with the surprise appearance of HRH who presented one of the race winner’s trophies.
The hospitality event not only helped to raise funds for our charity but gave us a key platform to help us engage with new supporters and raise awareness of the services we offer. And from our event trailer, based at the ringside, CSRC staff and volunteers did a fantastic job of spreading the word of the wonderful work we do with racegoers.
We would like to extend our thanks to Bangor-on-Dee Racecourse for running the Charity Race Day in support of CSRC. Also, to the many businesses and sponsors who bought hospitality tickets and donated, plus the many racegoers who supported us on the day.
The Princess Royal has visited our centre on three occasions over the past 40 years to mark developments that have taken place. We are so very grateful for her continued support and interest in all the work that we do.
Our 40th anniversary celebrations continue until June 2023, so keep a look out for more celebratory events.
