Clwyd Special Riding Centre wishes to thank two special ladies who, on turning the wonderful age of 60, chose to raise funds for the Centre in lieu of personal gifts…
Being a key volunteer for the Clwyd RDA Carriage Driving team here at Clwyd Special Riding Centre, when Joanna Tann turned 60 earlier this year, she invited friends and family to donate to charity instead of buying her a personal present. She set up a Just Giving page and set a target of £250. Joanna smashed her target raising a fantastic £418 – which has been split between the Centre and the Clwyd RDA Group.
Joanna explains more: “I chose to support the work Clwyd Special Riding Centre does, where I volunteer on Mondays with their Clwyd RDA Carriage Driving group. I see first-hand the benefits of the equine assisted sessions for both children and adults and the life-changing impact this has for them and their families.
“Turning 60 felt like a good milestone to celebrate by asking my family and friends to donate to a charity of my choice, and CSRC felt the perfect choice.”
Another of our amazing volunteers, Mandy Lloyd, also turned 60 last year. Mandy set up a Facebook fundraising page inviting friends and family to donate. Together they raised an amazing £510 for the Clwyd RDA Group who run the carriage driving sessions on Mondays, and riding on Wednesdays and Thursdays, here at the Centre.
We would like to again extend our thanks to everyone who made a donation in lieu of a gift to Joanna and Mandy. We and everyone who participates here really do appreciate your support.
When there’s nothing you particularly want for your birthday, asking loved ones to donate to a charity of your choice is a thoughtful way of giving. If you would like to do something similar to recognise a special birthday, anniversary or event, please contact our Fundraising Manager, Caroline Dingwall, for more information: fundraising@clwydspecialridingcentre.co.uk 01352 770446 (Option 2).
Thank you!
