What a spooktacular day we had at our Sopwith Halloween Stroll on Saturday 26th October. The day was a great success and has raised £884 for our charity!
The sunny and warm autumnal day gave the perfect backdrop for families to enjoy the beautiful surroundings at the Centre and the Halloween themed activities.
Children hunted for pumpkins along the all-weather track around our fields to find clues before returning to the Centre to enjoy the games, crafts and scrumptious snacks.
Everyone had a magical time and here are just some of the comments we’ve received…
“My grandsons and I had a fabulous time. So much to do and lots of fun. Thank you CSRC.”
“We had a lovely fun filled day and the weather couldn’t have been more perfect. Thank you so much for everything you do.”
“We had a fabulous time. The volunteers were wonderful and so engaged with the children. It was organised so well and we loved it .. thank you so much.”
This annual Sopwith event began in 2019, firstly as a running challenge event, and is led by a member of the Sopwith family in aid of Clwyd Special Riding Centre. Anne Sopwith founded the Centre over 40 years ago, and it is her family who carry on the Sopwith name and engagement with the charity – hence it being called the Sopwith Halloween Stroll.
A new attraction for this year was The Owl Man and his team of majestic owls and adorable skunks – yes, we said ‘adorable’ because despite their known trait, they were impeccably behaved and are very cuddly.
There is a lot of organisation that goes into these events, and we’d particularly like to thank Catherine Duff (Anne Sopwith’s daughter) – for pulling the event together and producing her culinary delights in the kitchen, The Owl Man – for bringing along his team of owls and skunks, Sara Bishop – for capturing the magic of the day with some stunning photos, the CSRC staff and volunteers – for all their hard work behind the scenes and on the day; and Click Convert Marketing – for allowing us to use their car park.
Thank you to everyone who came along to support this annual event, and we hope to see you next year. Until then, come along to our Christmas Fair on Saturday 7th December for more family fun and another chance to come and meet the owls, skunks and our wonderful horses and ponies.
